How to Play

The Goal

Build the best NFL roster you can from real team-seasons. Each roll gives you one franchise year, you draft one player from that team, then place him into an open slot on your depth chart.

When all 14 slots are filled, your roster plays a season. The dream is 20–0: 17 regular-season wins and 3 playoff wins.

How the Draft Works
  • Each roll is one team-season. You only get one player from that roll, so the best pick is the player who helps your roster most, not always the biggest name.
  • Tap a player, then choose the slot. Some players can fit more than one place. The slot you choose affects how much value you get from them.
  • Classic shows ratings and stats while you draft. Hard Count hides them until after the pick, so team knowledge matters more.
  • Challenge lets you reject one team and roll again. Save it for a roll that cannot help your open slots.
Draft Priority

Think like a GM. You are not collecting names; you are building a roster with no holes.

  1. Find a quarterback. Passing Offense is the largest category at 28%. Pass yards, TD/INT, rating, completion rate, and QB rushing all matter.
  2. Get pressure. Pass Rush is 17% of the score. You need two EDGE players, and EDGE1 carries more than EDGE2.
  3. Do not ignore coverage. Coverage Defense is 15%. CB1, CB2, and S all matter, and a weak secondary can block a 20-0 run.
  4. Balance the weapons. Rushing is 15% and Receiving is 11%. RB1, WR1, WR2, TE, and FLEX all count, but lead slots matter most.
  5. Protect the floor. DT and LB are less flashy, but defensive-line value and run defense keep one bad unit from dragging down the roster.
Slot Value & Position Fit
QB RB RB2 WR WR2 TE FLEX EDGE EDGE2 DT LB CB CB2 S

Lead slots carry more of the score than support slots. If two players can fill similar roles, give the better player the higher-value slot.

QBYour highest-leverage single decision. Passing drives the slot, with a 12% boost from real QB rushing value.
RB1 / RB2 / FLEXRB1 carries 65% of Rushing Offense. RB2 carries 20%. A RB at FLEX adds another 10% and gets more receiving credit.
WR1 / WR2 / TE / FLEXWR1 carries 45% of Receiving Corps, WR2 30%, TE 17%, and a WR/TE FLEX 8%.
EDGE1 / EDGE2EDGE1 carries 60% of Pass Rush and EDGE2 carries 40%. Put your best pressure season at EDGE1.
DT / LBDT supplies 75% of Defensive Line. EDGE pressure and LB run defense also support that category. LB is the whole Run Defense category.
CB1 / CB2 / SCB1 carries 40% of Coverage Defense, CB2 30%, and S 30%. You need all three to hold up.

Quick rule: lead slots get your stars. Support slots are still useful, but they should catch the next-best fit.

What Stats to Look For
QBPass Yds, TD/INT, Rating, Comp%, plus Rush Yds and Rush TDs for dual-threat seasons.
RBRush Yds, Carries, YPC, Rush TDs, plus Rec and Rec TDs. Receiving backs play better in RB/FLEX.
WR / TEYards, Rec, TD, and YPR. WR1 should be your biggest receiving season; TE should be a real weapon, not filler.
EDGESacks, TFL, QB Hits, tackles, and forced fumbles. Pressure is the premium defensive stat group.
DTSacks, TFL, QB Hits, and tackles. DT is about front strength, not just highlight sack totals.
LBTackles, TFL, sacks, INT, PD, and FF. LB mainly protects Run Defense, but playmakers help everywhere.
CB / SINT, PD, tackles, FF, and for safeties some sack value. Coverage players keep elite offenses from cracking the build.
What Carries the Most Weight

Your roster is graded across seven football categories. The final score maps to a 17-game regular-season record, then playoff wins are added to the final result.

Passing Offense - 28%QB passing plus a smaller QB rushing bump. This is the biggest single category.
Pass Rush - 17%EDGE1 and EDGE2 pressure. Your largest defensive swing category.
Rushing Offense - 15%RB1 drives it, with RB2 and FLEX-RB adding real support value.
Coverage Defense - 15%CB1, CB2, and S. Weak coverage can ruin an elite offense.
Receiving Corps - 11%WR1, WR2, TE, and FLEX receiver value around the QB.
Defensive Line - 10%Mostly DT, with some support from pass rush and LB run defense.
Run Defense - 4%The smallest category, but a bad LB score can still trigger a weakness penalty.

Any category below the floor creates a penalty. Star players can add a small bonus, but they cannot fully cover up bad units.

Perfect Season Checklist
  • Final score needs to reach the top band: about 90.5+.
  • Passing must be elite: around 85+.
  • Pass rush and coverage both need to be elite: around 86+ each.
  • Receiving should be strong: around 80+.
  • Rushing, defensive line, and run defense cannot be weak: roughly 74+, 76+, and 82+.
  • For 20-0, you need 17 regular-season wins and a full 3-win playoff run.
How to Win More Often
  • Draft for the roster you have. A good player at an empty premium slot often beats a slightly better player at a spot you already filled.
  • Do not chase offense only. A wild QB/RB/WR room still needs EDGE and coverage to survive the playoffs.
  • Respect rare positions. Elite CB, S, EDGE, TE, and QB options can be harder to replace than another useful RB or WR.
  • Use the Challenge late if you can. It gets more powerful when you know exactly which slots are still missing.
  • For 20–0, avoid weak links. You need elite highs and no obvious holes.
